Dairy Queen

In the last four weeks room 11 and 12 did book groups, it was really fun I was reading Dairy Queen with Ashling, Xara and Maddy. In book groups you organise an amount of book to read then come back after a couple of days and get together to talk about the section of book you have read. It was a really good book; I recommend that you read it if you’re into sports, a little bit of romance and dramas.  If your group has really good conversations and all read the right amount of book you can unlock crackers. So you can bring in snacks to meetings.

I think one of the things that went well was we all contributed to each conversation and everyone read the right amount of the book each time. It also made us read more than we normally would.  Sometimes someone forgot to bring their book.

Badjelly the Witch

When I was younger I read “Badjelly the Witch” by Spike Milligan a lot. Sometimes I read it now just because it’s really funny it has really cool names in it like:

  • ·         Fluffybum the cat

  • ·         Binklebonk the tree goblin

  • ·         Dingle mouse the mouse (ex banana)

  • ·         Pom-pom the dog

  • ·         Silly sausage the grass hopper

  • ·         Jim the eagle

  • ·        Mud wiggle the worm

  • ·         Badjelly the witch

Usually my dad would read it to me but sometimes we took turns reading pages. We had the a recording of Spike Milligan reading it which I listened to a lot. It is about two children who's cow got taken by Badjelly the witch and it is about them trying to find their cow and meeting some weird people/things along the way. This was one of my favorite books when I was younger and I recommend you read it!

Gabby's netball practice!

On the Monday of the second week of the holidays my sister had netball practice at wellington girls and I was forced to go with her. Gabby forgot to tell me that we were getting on an earlier train and I only had twenty minutes instead of fifty minutes to get dressed and have breakfast and I had just broken eggs for scrambled eggs! So I got Gabby who was ready to go to look after my eggs and put them in a container with tomato sauce while I got dressed. Luckily I got ready in time so we could catch the train Gabby wanted us to catch.

When we got to wellington girls I opened my container and my eggs had mixed with the tomato sauce and were pink! Gabby said,
“Eeeewwwww they look like brains.”
And as you could probably guess I didn’t really want to eat my scrammed eggs after that so I just went to the supermarket and got a pastry.
